EngineerMyHealth is built for longevity, inspired by systems thinking and biohacking principles. Rooted in environmental responsibility and vegan ethics, our philosophy is simple: a true health system should protect all life, not harm it.
Fuel up with evidence-based, ethical eating.
Plant-based with key supplements and targeted phytonutrients, backed by science and aligned with compassion. Optimal balance of macro and micro nutrients without ethical compromise.
Build functional muscle to support lifelong resilience.
Strength is foundational for bone health, metabolic function, and injury prevention. We help you implement structured resistance training tailored to your goals and current fitness level to continuously improve.
Train your heart and lungs for endurance and vitality.
Aerobic conditioning improves energy, focus, and even emotional stability. Our approach balances steady-state work and intensity zones to build a cardiovascular engine that lasts a lifetime.
Cultivate calm, clarity, and emotional resilience.
Mental health is paramount. Our framework includes mindfulness, stress regulation, and cognitive tools to enhance focus, reduce anxiety, build emotional agility over time and improve relationships.
Optimise rest to recover, repair, and thrive.
Sleep is your body’s most powerful recovery tool. We help you improve its quality through circadian alignment, effective sleep hygiene, and smart habit design – because without recovery, progress isn’t possible.
Using the EngineerMyHealth method you can optimise your health by applying engineering principles to human wellbeing: data-driven, evidence-based, and relentlessly practical. Just as engineers solve complex problems through testing, iteration, and precision, we use the same tools to transform your health.
This isn’t about hacks or hype, the latest macro trends or having cheat days 20% of the time, It’s about building resilient, measurable systems – focusing on what matters, executing with intent, and refining for lasting results. That’s why we’re not going to show you before and after pictures of people’s fat loss and muscle gain, it’s not what we’re about!
1. Improve Your Scientific Understanding
Gain a solid foundation in the biology and psychology that underpin optimal health. We demystify the latest research and translate it into actionable insights – so you’re empowered to make informed, intelligent decisions about your wellbeing.
2. Measure & Analyse Your Health Data
Track the metrics that actually matter. From nutrition and sleep to training load, biometrics and blood markers, we guide you in collecting meaningful data – then help you interpret it with the rigour of an engineer.
3. Establish Your SMART Goals
Set goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Whether it’s running a faster 5K, building lean strength, or improving focus and sleep quality, we help you define objectives aligned to your starting point and ambition.
4. Design Your Health Systems
Build systems that help you achieve your goals – routines, habits, tools, and environments that drive lasting behavioural change. Think of this as engineering your daily defaults: frictionless, repeatable, and purpose-built for progress.
5. Review and Refine
Optimisation is a loop, not a finish line. Through continuous measurement feedback, reflection, and iteration, we help you refine your systems over time. When life changes, or new science emerges, your health plan evolves – with precision, not panic.

Thom is a 38 year old chartered power systems engineer from the UK who now calls Kraków, Poland home. During the two decades of his career so far designing high voltage networks, including the grid upgrades for over 100 renewable energy projects, Thom has applied his engineering skillset to all aspects of his own wellbeing. He launched his protocol, namely, EngineerMyHealth as a service to help others in 2023.
Thom is fascinated by psychology and has been a meditation advocate for over 20 years. At age just 16, Thom used meditation and mindfulness to overcome his chronic childhood shyness, enabling him to rapidly expand his comfort zone. This led him to pursue a hobby in stand up comedy, performing at venues all around the world. In 2020, he won the Kraków Stand-Up Comedy competition, proof that introverted engineers can conquer stage fright and excel in creative pursuits.
Thom has been vegetarian since birth, vegan since age 26 in 2013, and a keen runner and gym-goer. He has logged thousands of hours analysing nutrition and fitness research including completing the eCornell Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate. He’s spent a lot of the last 12 years experimenting in the kitchen with plant-based recipes, testing every insight on himself to help optimise his blood work, body composition, exercise performance and of course taste satisfaction.
Even with a head full of nutrition and fitness facts, Thom learned the hard way that healthy routines can easily collapse at stressful times leading to rapid health decline. After a couple of years of intense engineering consultancy pressure in the midst of covid-19 lockdowns, with too many Uber eats junk food orders and lack of exercise, Thom had a chance to reflect during a holiday where he found himself in the worst health status of his life. He was overweight with compromised strength and cardiovascular fitness, and had blood test results with multiple sub-optimal biomarkers.
This challenge created an opportunity for Thom to re-optimise his health with more intention than ever before. Armed with the latest smart devices and apps, and new emerging science, he re-applied his knowledge and engineering mindset to create pragmatic health systems that quickly improved his health, and enhanced work productivity and focus.
Here are some of Thom’s results, all whilst delivering a high performing engineering consultancy service, and maintaining a busy lifestyle with a wide range of hobbies from gardening to standup comedy.
Here are some of the tools and equipment that make up the EngineerMyHealth program – you probably have a lot of them already! Don’t worry if this feels overwhelming at first, in time everything becomes second nature, and a joy.
Track what matters, instantly.
Smart scales, wearables, digital blood pressure devices, grip strength and tape measures turn guesses into graphs. Continuous feedback lets us spot trends early and fine-tune training, nutrition, and recovery with engineering precision.
See beneath the surface.
Periodic blood panels, urinalysis, DNA tests, and DEXA scans reveal micronutrient gaps, genetic sensitivities, and body composition with great accuracy – removing guesswork so interventions can be tuned to your personal needs.
Data Management and Planning.
Cronometer, Garmin Connect, Hevy, Strava and other apps sync seamlessly, consolidating food logs, workouts, and sleep scores for continuous tracking and optimisation.
Default to healthy habits.
Calendars, habit triggers, to-do lists and templates translate goals into time-boxed actions. Systems thinking makes compliance the path of least resistance, even on chaotic weeks.
Repair for repeat performance.
Meditation environments, massage tools, ideal bedroom setups, all help you restore and recover and safeguard against burnout.
Your home nutrition lab.
Digital pressure cookers, steamers, air fryers, blenders, accurate scales, and appropriate storage. Keep macro and micronutrient targets effortless and optimal nutrition plant-based meals convenient and tasty.
Making training convenient.
Commercial gyms are great but can be overcrowded and a long commute. A home gym can be ideal for busy schedules, and as simple as some dumbbells. Quality running shoes help keep you injury-free. Cardio equipment lets you train whilst you work.
Accountability accelerates results.
Private messaging groups, monthly group calls, and local meet-ups provide competition, peer review, shared data challenges, and a judgement-free space to celebrate wins or troubleshoot setbacks.
Shortcuts and guesswork don’t last. Most programmes on the market still rely on motivational slogans, weekly “cheat-days,” or the latest macronutrient fad. They look simple and easy, because they are, and they leave out the detail that actually matters for your long term health.
What many programmes do | How EngineerMyHealth does it better |
---|---|
Over-simplify nutrition to macronutrients, hope for the best with a ‘varied’ or ‘balanced’ diet – whatever that means. | Respects the complexity of nutrition. Examines how to calculate macros for personal needs, meet all essential micronutrient needs, maximise beneficial phytonutrients and how to correct suboptimal biomarkers. |
Hand out generic workout plans for everyone, little guidance on mobility or recovery. | Teaches how to create data-driven, periodised training aligned to your individual strength levels, schedule, and recovery needs. |
Ignore environmental impact of food. | Plant-centred protocols that lower carbon, water-use, and environmental impact. Climate-change is one of the biggest threats to health and longevity – we cannot ignore that. |
Chase each new fad or detox for sales. | Endorses critical thinking skills, sticks to peer-reviewed science; updates plans only when robust evidence emerges. |
Rely on dramatic before/after photos. Use fat loss as the hallmark of health. | Tracks a wide range of objective biometrics. |
Treat mental wellbeing as an afterthought – maybe a motivational quote, nothing structured. | Includes meditation and mindfulness, stress-management, and habit-design tools as a core pillar of the programme. Covers social relationships and wider aspects of wellbeing. |
Overlook animal ethics entirely. | Align health gains with compassion; no benefit at another creature’s expense. |
Endorse weekly “cheat days” or 80:20 approach. | Build friction-free habits that make healthy eating effortless and pleasurable – no need to binge and repent. |
